Derivation of Traffic Volumes for Effective Distribution of Object-Oriented Applications

چکیده
This paper specifies a procedure to derive trafSic volume information for distribution of objectoriented applications. An accurate picture of trafSic volumes between application components and sites, and among application components is crucial for eflective design of any distributed application. The procedure represents a considerable improvement over the traditional practice of requiring application designers to provide best guess estimates of trafsic volumes among application components. This approach exploits knowledge about the way in which objects are to be fragmented to compile the required traffic volumes. The knowledge utilized includes information on attribute values and messaging needed for transaction scenarios. Estimates of traffic volume generated by this procedure are of immense help to the application designer during the allocation phase of objectoriented system distribution. The procedure is amenable to automation, and has been successfully applied to a real-world application.

Declarative Semantics in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey
One of the modern paradigms to develop an application is object oriented analysis and design. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles in applications. In an application, we must distinguish between procedural semantics and declarative semantics for their implementation in a specific programming language. For the procedural semantics, we can write a ...
متن کاملThe Assessment of Applying Chaos Theory for Daily Traffic Estimation
Road traffic volumes in intercity roads are generally estimated by probability functions, statistical techniques or meta-heuristic approaches such as artificial neural networks. As the road traffic volumes depend on input variables and mainly road geometrical design, weather conditions, day or night time, weekend or national holidays and so on, these are also estimated by pattern recognition te...
متن کاملModel with Parametric Polymorphism for Dynamic Segmentation
Dynamic segmentation is commonly viewed as one of the most effective aspects of GIS for transportation applications. To date, much of this effort has focused on relational data models, with object data models receiving far less attention. This paper presents an object model that provides a natural representation of dynamically segmented features by extending the Object Database Management Group...
متن کاملODE: a tool for distributing object-oriented applications
Object-oriented applications are increasingly being deployed in distributed computing environments. Technologies, such as Java RMI, and architectures, such as CORBA, DCOM, and Enterprise Java Beans, are facilitating and enhancing this trend. The performance and eventual success of these applications is dependent on distribution decisions made by the application designer. This decision is a comp...
متن کاملSample-oriented Domain Adaptation for Image Classification
Image processing is a method to perform some operations on an image, in order to get an enhanced image or to extract some useful information from it. The conventional image processing algorithms cannot perform well in scenarios where the training images (source domain) that are used to learn the model have a different distribution with test images (target domain). Also, many real world applicat...
